Today I received a new toy, a Motorola Q9c smartphone. This being a major upgrade over my old cellphone I can’t wait to put this machine to use. The one apparent benefit of this smartphone, as with others in the same category is CUSTOMIZATION.
With a treasure trove of downloadable wallpapers and applications, it is easy to mold this machine the its user’s tastes. One word of warning, buy a SD mini memory card as the phone’s internal storage is very limited. I only could fit 6 mp3 songs on it.
Fortunately, I purchased 4 GB of Patriot Mini SDHC memory that arrived almost at the same time as the phone. The memory upon installation reads 3.8 GB because there is already a file on the card. I will investigate later whether the file was preloaded by the manufacturer or was set up by the phone upon installation.
As it stands now, I am very satisfied with the Q9c’s features and performance.

Time to dust my little blog off and put it to use. I’ve taken a sabbatical from my writing duties in part to catch up with the chores of my life. Between my job (major overtime), duties around the casa, and family commitments, leisure time was down to a bare minimum. Yet there was a bit of leisure time that I could have attended my blog, but didn’t.
I had to take a little downtime from the daily outrage that is Bushco. Basically I felt like an longtime emergency room attendant who’ve seen the most shocking and painful scenes, who has finally failed to be shocked by it all. I finally failed to be shocked by what my government has done in my name. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe the actions the Bush Administation continues to do today are still outragous, illegal, and unethical. But am I shocked? No.
I finally understand for them it’s par for the course. They have no shame.

I didn’t know who Linwood Barclay was, but I’m a huge fan of his now.
Barclay’s diagnosis of Rush’s problem with Michael J. Fox:
Now, I know this may offend those who suffer from this particular condition, and these individuals might not like it much when I suggest that a certain person with this diagnosis is exaggerating his symptoms, but I have to say, I think Rush Limbaugh is just pretending to be a dick.
It just keeps getting better after that …read on!
WashPost Saletan’s take on the poster child for hypocrisy, Rush:
Last year, Limbaugh, who used a tailbone defect to get out of the Vietnam War draft, accused a Democratic candidate of having served in Iraq “to pad the resume.” He charged veterans — including former senator Max Cleland (D-Ga.), who lost his legs and an arm in Vietnam — with trying “to hide their liberalism behind a military uniform . . . pretending to be something that they are not.” When war is just a television show, a uniform is just a costume. Liberalism is real; losing your limbs is a pretense.
A dope addict criticizing the the legitimate medications of a Parkinson’s Disease sufferer = hypocrisy.

Under fire for his role in “FoleyGate”, the head of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Tom Reynolds attempts to shield himself from media scrutiny by hiding behind children. Attending a press conference at a daycare facility with the children and their accompanying parents, some who are Republican officials, Reynolds used the children’s presence to shield him from questions from the press corps.on Foley’s lewd behavior and Reynolds role in the affair. The media asked the congressman to send the kids away so that mature subjects could be discussed, but Reynolds denied their requests. Seeing the ploy for what it was, the press was incensed.

After today’s appalling performance in BOTH houses of Congress regarding the pieces of sh*t legislation known as HR.6166 and S.3930, also known as the torture bills, I stand aghast. These elected officials, these so-called Americans, voted for giving torturers immunity from criminal trials.
In the last few years under the Bush regime, I’ve witnesses many actions that shocked, bewildered, and outraged me. But today’s act wasn’t by Bush, it was from the United States Congress. This was from the people’s representatives.
With the fall elections quickly approaching, newsmen, political pundits, and even candidates for office all believe that the number one issue for the elections is the War in Iraq. After today’s UNAMERICAN perfomance by Congress, I say the number one issue that voters should decide is whether we are a country that values the rule of law, human rights, and the Supremacy of the Constitution or are we torturers.
NOTE TO CONGRESS: You hear that faint snickering, that’s Bin Laden laughing at you.
